Meet Our Doctor

R. Shane Terry, DMD

I have been working with patients in the area since 2011, but my history in dentistry started years before. My education started at Brigham Young University – Idaho, where I received my associate degree in arts and sciences. After completing my associate degree, I went to Idaho State University, where I received my bachelor’s degree in biology. From 2002 to 2006 I engaged myself in completing my dental education at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After receiving my DMD, I successfully completed a one-year advanced general dentistry residency. Still to this day, my commitment to continuing education remains a hallmark of my practice.

I am a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and am currently serving as a dental officer in the United States Army Reserves.

For over 20 years, I have been married to the love of my life. Together, my wife and I have four beautiful children, each of which brings a joy to our lives. Our children of various ages have served missions, are committed to higher education, and enjoy singing, riding bikes and watching superhero movies. When I’m not working, I enjoy participating in outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping and fishing. I also enjoy reading books and travelling when time permits.

At the end of the day, I genuinely enjoy providing excellent dental care for those that live in this county. Our team cultivates healthy and happy smiles for the whole family, and provide hope to every patient despite the unique challenges each individual may face.

Meet Our Team

Since 2011, our dentist and team at Terry Family Dental have proudly helped our patients create healthier smiles through quality dental services. Our team does everything possible to understand the patient and their situation so that we can address their treatment needs in the best way possible. We always lend a listening ear and will always listen before offering suggestions because we value what you have to say.

Dr. R. Shane Terry and our team are local to the area with most of us having grown up in the community. Jennifer Fisher – Dental Hygienist

I have been with Terry Family Dental since 2011. Since starting, I have appreciated the size of the office and how well we work with each other as a team. Each day, I spend quality one-on-one time with my patients and get to know them and make them feel more at home.

My husband and I have been married for over 13 years, and together we have two boys, Brennan and Blaine. When not at work, I enjoy going to baseball and soccer games with my family.

Kylie Simmons – Dental Assistant

Since April of 2016, I have been a proud member of the team here. I am a native to the area and graduated high school from Wills Point in 2013. After completing my high school education, I went to University of Texas at Tyler for two years. I then went on to graduate from Elite Dental Assisting School in January 2016. We are a family-oriented dental office and we strive to make our patients feel as comfortable as possible and give each patient the best dental experience. Each day, I do all I can to make the patients feel comfortable, while assisting the doctor with dental procedures.

In May of 2016, I married my high school sweetheart, Garrett. We are due to have a daughter in July of 2019.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with friends and family.

Jamie Black – Dental Assistant/Front Desk

I have been with the team since May of 2016. Before coming to this office, I graduated from Elite Dental Assisting School in January of 2016. I really enjoy what I do and have a great time getting to help our patients in whichever ways I can, whether it is with billing/insurance questions or making them feel more comfortable being in the dental chair. I do my best to make sure their personal dental experience is as enjoyable as possible. One of the things I love about this office is that Terry Family Dental is very family oriented, so I never have to choose work or my kids. I get to enjoy both and not miss out.

I have two boys, Easton and Lane. In our free time, we enjoy spending time at the baseball fields or at Camp Gladiator.
